Monday 1st - Tuesday 2nd April saw 25 Year 7 More Able and Talented students attend Broomley Grange Outdoor Activity Centre in a visit that was aimed at increasing their confidence, team-building, and challenging them to the max. Students took part in an assault course, high ropes, rock climbing, Jacob's Ladder, Slip Slide and a series of group challenges. Every single student pushed themselves and excelled at all the activities. They showed that they were capable of facing their fears and working as a team. On the evening students were taught camp-craft skills and built their own fires in a clearing in the forest before enjoying a well earned toasted marshmallow or four. The staff at Broomley Grange praised the entire group's motivation and attitude towards all the challenges that were put in front of them. Students faced, and overcame, their fears such as heights and confined spaces and encouraged those who struggled to succeed. The group then visited Wheel-Bergs Ice-Cream Parlour for a well-earned treat and debrief before heading back to school.
