Parent Feedback
We recently surveyed parents and carers about our remote education offering. Key findings are:
The vast majority (97%) are happy with the remote education provision and 92% are confident that their child is learning while at home.
94% told us that the work set for their child is at the right level of challenge and 92% agree that it was the right amount.
The vast majority of parents and carers praised the school for their dedication and efforts to make sure their children are still learning while at home.
95% think that students sticking to their normal timetable is the right decision and 90% stated that they are happy with every lesson being taught over a live Google Meet.

"I'm really proud with the learning my children are receiving. I feel the normal school hours are helping to keep them in a routine. After talking with other parents who have children at different schools I feel Tanfield have handled this well. Some children at other schools don't have zoom classes or much work."
"Much better this time, I like the fact my son is engaging in live lessons with all of his teachers, seeing and/or hearing them makes all the difference as there are clear expectations. I appreciate the amount of time and effort that has gone into making this remote learning a success and allowing my son to continue learning whilst having some kind of normality Mon-Fri. Thank you!"
"We could not ask for more from the school, staff have gone above and beyond to ensure that the students are learning and also find the time to check on their well-being. As parents, we have been kept up to date with Daniel’s progress during a virtual parents evening which was excellent and with developments in the exam situation through prompt, regular letters as the situation develops. The proactive approach taken by the school to this ever changing situation has really helped Daniel to maintain some kind of normal by providing a routine. Thank you also for the prompt response to the issue raised following parents evening."
