Behind the scenes running of a hotel was the focus of our recent visit to Beamish Hall Hotel. Year 10 Hospitality and Catering students visited Beamish Hall to contextualise recent learning about how the hospitality industry is structured and how a hotel is run.

We arrived to a very warm welcome from the hotel manager before meeting a range of the hotel staff. We had a full tour of Beamish Hall, complete with historical details and the running costs of such an establishment. We were also given an extensive tour of the hotel grounds, Beamish Wild, the new children's play area complete with mud kitchen and the fantastic garden centre. We rounded off our day with food from the Stables where, again, we experienced first-hand excellent customer service, what it means to be customer focused and how this impacts on a business.

Overall we had an informative and enjoyable day, we are all looking forward to returning to sample some more Beamish Hall Family Hospitality.
