Tanfield School believes reading success leads to confidence, high levels of literacy and to support this we use the Accelerated Reading Scheme. The Library Zone has increased its volume of books arranged them using the levels of the scheme and actively promotes its use to all our students. Reading lessons are timetabled for all Year 7,8 and 9 students to support and help them achieve higher levels of literacy, reading success and foster a love of reading. One to one reading sessions are also run to enhance students reading with help from older students, staff and members of Tanfield Association.
